Our route so far...
We put the Golden Gate Bridge astern on
October 11, 2004 and headed down the California coast to San Diego. We
then joined the 2004 Baja Ha-Ha Cruising Rally and made our way to Cabo San
Lucas Mexico. We spent the next six months cruising the Mexican waters
before striking out across the Pacific Ocean from Puerto Vallarta.
We reached our first landfall of Nuku
Hiva in the Marquessas islands 31 days later. We spent the next five
months following the coconut run route through the South Pacific, visiting
French Polynesia, The Cook Islands, Niue Island, and Tonga.
In October of 2005 we left Tonga and
spent 15 days at sea before reaching New Zealand's north Island.
The 2006/2007 South Pacific Cyclone
Season was spent in New Zealand and Starship was refit while we both
returned to the United States to work and feed the cruising kitty.
In mid 2007 we sailed across the
"Terrible Tasman Sea" to Sydney Australia. The remainder of the
cruising season was spent in Australia resolving an engine failure. It
is currently Cyclone Season again and Pam is working in Australia while
Scott is working in the Washington DC area. We will depart Australia
this coming May to continue the Blind Circumnavigation.

Where to next?
We recently read a quote from an unknown source -
"Sailors don't make plans they have intentions". This quote sums
up our track record of predicting our route. Just when you think
you know where you will go next, out of nowhere comes an emergency
appendectomy, or you learn that there is a reef in the middle of the
ocean where you can stop and catch lobsters. So we now believe
that the best we can do is share our intentions.
We are currently in Newcastle, Australia
and we have just completed installation of our new Volvo Penta engine,
hopefully bringing an end to our Australian engine saga.
As
it is getting late in the 2007 cruising season and cyclone season is looming
ever closer, we have decided to wait out the cyclone season in Oz.
We hope to sample all of the
beautiful cruising grounds that Australia has to offer. Please
visit the website for updates!
